Marine Surveys:

Fred Leafloor, through Safety First Industrial Safety Services, has melded his background knowledge and experience within the maritime industry and his regulatory compliance expertise to provide a unique service to the East Coast marine community, particularly for the offshore sector.

Safety First Industrial conducts marine health, safety and environmental surveys of domestic and foreign-flag vessels to support their acceptance by petroleum operators and the petroleum regulators for offshore service in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.

These special surveys include reviews of owner / vessel certificates and program documentation, International Safety Management Code evaluation, pre-hire onsite vessel surveys and guidance regarding the unique requirements of the East Coast offshore regulatory regime.

This practice has provided for the economical and efficient entry of a number of vessels into East Coast service, such as mobile drilling units (drillship, semi-submersible and jackup units), dive support vessels, lay barges, pipeline vessels, seismic vessels, offshore supply vessels and offshore designated standby vessels.

Some of these vessels entered (& entering) into Canada include:
